How to use the no-vig calculator
- Pick a 2-way or 3-way market. Use 3-way for soccer and other markets with a draw.
- Enter every side’s odds from the same sportsbook. Devigging only makes sense within a single book’s market.
- Read the fair probabilities and odds. The worst-case column shows the longest fair odds any method produced. If a price at another book beats even that, the bet is +EV under every method.
The four methods
Worked example
A sharp book lists Over 47.5 at −115 and Under 47.5 at +105. Implied probabilities are 53.49% and 48.78%, which add up to 102.27%, a hold of about 2.2%.
Multiplicative devig divides each by 1.0227, giving 52.30% for the over and 47.70% for the under. In fair odds that is roughly −110 and +110. Any US book offering the under at +115 or better would be worth a closer look in the expected value calculator.

What is hold in sports betting?
Hold is the share of total money wagered that a sportsbook expects to keep if it takes balanced action. A standard −110 / −110 market holds about 4.55%. Sharp books like Pinnacle often hold 2% to 3% on major markets.
Why do the devig methods disagree?
They make different assumptions about where the book puts its margin. Multiplicative spreads it proportionally. Additive takes the same amount from every outcome. Power takes proportionally more from longshots. On a close two-way market the results are nearly identical. On lopsided markets they can differ by a few percent.
Can I devig a player prop?
Yes, if you have both sides (over and under) from a sharp source. One-sided prop markets can’t be devigged reliably because there’s no second price to measure the margin against.
